Every year you should take time to recharge and work on yourself. We give so much to everyone else through our coaching, facilitating, managing and more. We should remember to take some time to develop ourselves. There are a couple of books I recommend that should be read every year to help recharge. They are:
- Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
- The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino
- Any other Og Mandino books
- Mans Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl
- The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
- As a Man Thinketh by James Allen
- Twelve Pillars by Jim Rohn and Chris Widener And a new one just added to the list
These are really quick reads but so meaningful. Next time you are traveling, throw one in your bag or on your Kindle/Nook and you can get through it by the time the plan lands.
Twelve Pillars was just given to me recently and am I glad it was. Thanks Emily! It is a quick novel that walks through 12 pillars of life that if followed will lead to an incredibly full life. It is the story of Michael and Charlie. Charlie walks Michael through the important categories of life. They include:
- Personal Development
- Health
- Relationships
- Goals
- Time
- Surround Yourself with the Best People
- Life Long Learning
- All of Life is Sales
- Income
- Communication
- Leadership
- Leave a Legacy
I won’t give the story away but you owe it to yourself to take a couple of hours and go through it.
Let me know what you think!
