How do you provide value for your department and for you? I realize these are two different value propositions but thought I would throw it out there. While the list I am starting with isn’t a complete list, I’d like to have you add to it to see how many different ways we can find.
So here it goes…
- Link L&D goals to organizational goals
- Link goals to departmental goals
- Link goals to customer satisfaction surveys
- Make L&D invaluable to business units by solving their problems, pains, or issues
- Use quality and other business tools such as Six Sigma and project management
- Be a resource for information
- Measure data points that are important to the organization or some component of the organization, such as days to train
- Conduct a needs assessment to deliver what is needed when it is needed
- Expand the number of interventions or types of interventions that you can offer
- Be a leader for others
- Be a mentor for others
- Be a coach
- Become a performance resource
- Be a trusted advisor
- Cost Benefit Analysis
- Return on Investment
- Use Balance Scorcard as a tool
This is just a starter list. How do provide value to your clients?
